Beat Air Pollution
9 out of 10 people breathe polluted air and approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year from air pollution.
On June 5, every year, @unenvironment government agencies, civil society organizations, business enterprises and individual environmental advocates come together to celebrate world environment day; creating awareness about environmental hazards and proposing measures to mitigate these challenges. The celebration of this day provides us with an opportunity to broaden the basis for an enlightened opinion and responsible conduct by individuals, enterprises and communities in preserving and enhancing the environment.
This year, H4BF takes the lead in creating awareness on one of the pertinent environmental issue faced by the world today-“Air Pollution” which happens to be the theme for this year’s world environment day celebration come June 5, 2019. As part of our environmental program, we will be engaging some 30 youths in a cleanup campaign as a means to #beatairpollution in Bamenda. We can’t stop breathing, but we can do something about the quality of air that we breathe through our little local actions.
World Environment Day 2019-come June 5, challenges all of us to come together to explore sustainable technologies and initiatives that improve air quality in cities and regions across the world.
