Job Opening: Communication and Advocacy Officer

About the role:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Advocacy Officer to join our growing team. The Advocacy Officer will play a key role in developing and implementing our advocacy strategy, building relationships with policymakers and other stakeholders, and campaigning for positive change in Cameroon.


  • Develop and implement H4BF’s advocacy strategy, aligned with our mission, vision, and goals.
  • Identify and research key policy issues affecting women and girls, health, food security, and other areas of H4BF’s work.
  • Develop and deliver compelling advocacy materials, such as briefings, reports, and presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent H4BF at meetings, conferences, and other advocacy events.
  • Manage and coordinate campaigns to raise awareness and build public support for H4BF’s advocacy agenda.
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of H4BF’s advocacy efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in advocacy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, public policy, social work, law, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in communication, Journalism, advocacy, policy analysis, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful Communication and advocacy campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of the political and policy landscape in Cameroon.
  • Excellent, writing, editing, research and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with international NGOs and donors is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and French is required.
