Cameroon currently experiencing very profound and complex challenges, including the rise of violent extremism and radicalization, against a backdrop of identity-based conflicts, cultural and religious tensions. Cameroonians identify with historic roots in over 240 tribal ethnicities; each maintaining pride in its culture and distinct language. Cameroon’s wealth is in her abundant natural resources, extraordinary human resilience and hospitality, and rich diversity of traditions
We contribute to the knowledge and dissemination of initiatives and actions that are identified as good practices for the construction of a culture of peace in Cameroonian communities through communication and education resources, as well as participatory processes that promote education in values and attitudes, dialogue and conflict resolution. It proposes to prioritize prevention, especially in schools, in order to reduce violence and eradicate inequality between men and women
We train young people and adults to achieve behavioral changes that will resolve conflicts peacefully, prevent violence and contribute to creating communities of peace in the Cameroon. It is about developing courses, seminars, conferences oriented to the creation of a Culture of Peace, as well as production of didactic materials.
